Planning the Event

Before the event, Turks Head Wines' Events & Guest Experience Manager sent me photos of the second-floor lounge. I used them to settle the format: roaming walk-around magic, not a stage show, was the right fit for the space and a reception of this size.

Parking was arranged in advance. The Chestnut Street Parking Garage — owned by the Borough of West Chester and operated by Colonial Parking — sits one block from the venue, and I confirmed access with the garage's management before the day. For an evening event at a downtown venue, securing parking ahead of time removed the one variable that could have complicated load-in.

I ate in downtown West Chester before the event. That was my favorite thing about this booking's location: the downtown of the seat of Chester County, PA put many dining options within walking distance of the venue.

The Performance

The 75-minute walk-around session ran one small group at a time through the second-floor lounge, reception style, for approximately 100 guests. On my way out after the scheduled time, I performed for the venue staff; some of the client's employees were there for that too.

GFM Advisory Group is based in West Chester, PA, so this was a client appreciation event in the team's own town. The group has been named a Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Team for three consecutive years through 2026.
